Before David faced the giant Goliath, threatening the flock of Israel, he had already faced and fought off beasts that had tried to kill his own flock he shepherded.

David spent years in the fields and plains herding hungry and thirsty sheep from one place to another. With countless hours of downtime he developed two essential skills. One a heart of worship, playing his instrument and singing to the Lord, the other a weapon, his slingshot, swung endless trimes to practice its precision. A worshipper and a warrior.
